Lactate Performance Tests

If sport performance and improving it is the focus of training work, then specific training and its implementation becomes a significant factor. The basis for efficient and performance-oriented training is offered using lactate performance diagnostics.

A lactate performance test can determine the strengths and weaknesses of athletes regarding individual endurance levels. Ascertaining the anaerobic threshold serves here to create an effective and individually-tailored training plan, which is again an indicator for improved training management and long-term performance gains. Using the accompanying cardio frequency data, the personal training areas where training is needed can be ascertained.

A lactate performance test consists of stages of stress on the treadmill, on the stationary cycle or as a field test (shuttle run) in certain sports. In order to determine the lactate (concentration of lactic acid in the blood as a metabolic product), a small capillary blood sample is taken from the ear lobe after each stage. The lactate content measured is then used in relation to the intensity level and the pulse rate to provide specific training recommendations for training management and strategic planning.
